The House of Representatives has expressed its sense in showing solidarity with the victims of the recent strong earthquake that jolted the province of Cebu.
This, after the 318-strong chamber adopted at past midnight Friday, Oct. 3 House Resolution (HR) No.325.
The measure is titled, "A resolution expressing the profound empathy, compassion and unwavering solidarity of the House of Representatives with the victims of the September 30, 2025 magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu and nearly provinces."
Deputy Speaker Iloilo 1st district Rep. Janette Garin, the presiding officer at that time, declared HR No.325 as adopted after a simple voice vote (ayes vs nayes).
Authoring the measure were House Speaker Isabela 6th district Rep. Faustino "Bojie" Dy III, Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos, and Minority Leader 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino "Nonoy" Libanan.
The death toll from the tremblor has climbed to 72, as per reports Thursday.
