The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) has issued an apology after mistakenly reporting that Rosa Rosal had passed away.
“We sincerely apologize for an earlier post regarding the passing of Ms. Rosa Rosal. It has come to our attention that the information was false,” FAMAS said in a statement issued on Oct. 3.
It added: “Ms. Rosal remains with us, and we deeply regret any confusion or distress this may have caused her family, friends, and admirers.
“FAMAS values truth and integrity, and we will continue to be more vigilant in verifying information before releasing any public statement," said an art card on FAMAS.
