The Department of Health (DOH) has assured that Northern and Central Luzon are equipped with medicines, vaccines, and health commodities as Typhoon “Paolo” made landfall in Isabela on Friday, Oct. 3, and forced residents to seek shelter in evacuation centers.
“Nakahanda na ang DOH Northern at Central Luzon sa inaasahang paglandfall ng Bagyong Paolo sa Isabela o Northern Aurora ngayong Biyernes, October 3, 2025 (DOH Northern and Central Luzon are prepared for the expected landfall of Typhoon Paolo in Isabela or Northern Aurora this Friday, October 3, 2025),” the agency said in its advisory.
The health department said essential health commodities have been prepositioned to support evacuees and affected families.
“Siniguro ng DOH ang sapat na supply ng health commodities gaya ng: Gamot gaya ng doxycycline, gamot sa ubo, lagnat at sipon; Oral Health Care Packages; Malinis na inuming tubig; Water containers; at Hygiene Kits (The DOH has ensured sufficient supply of health commodities such as medicines including doxycycline, cough, fever, and cold medicine; oral health care packages; clean drinking water; water containers; and hygiene kits),” it said.

The agency noted that cold chain monitoring was also conducted to guarantee the safety of vaccines.
“Kasabay nito, nagsagawa rin ng Cold Chain Monitoring para matiyak na ligtas at nasa maayos na kondisyon ang mga bakuna (Alongside this, cold chain monitoring was conducted to ensure that vaccines remain safe and in proper condition),” it added.
The DOH said its health emergency teams are ready to be deployed in evacuation centers to provide medical attention to residents displaced by the storm.
“Inaasahan ang pagresponde ng DOH sa mga evacuation centers sakaling kailanganing lumikas ng mga apektado ng bagyo Paolo (The DOH is expected to respond in evacuation centers in case residents need to evacuate due to Typhoon Paolo),” the department said.
Earlier this week, the DOH Central Office raised Code White Alert in anticipation of the storm’s landfall, ensuring standby medicines, equipment, and Health Emergency Response Teams at the Operations Center.
