The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has temporarily suspended all watercraft travel in the Binangonan, Rizal portion of Laguna Lake, following a travel advisory issued at 3 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3. The advisory took effect at 9 a.m. the same day.
According to the advisory of PCG Substations in Binangonan and Talim West, all types of water vessel, regardless of tonnage, are prohibited from navigating the western waters of Laguna Lake, specifically the Binangonan side of Talim Island.
The advisory will remain in force until further notice or until the PCG issues a formal lifting of the travel ban.
According to the PCG, the suspension is based on existing memoranda that restrict water travel during bad weather.
Binangonan Mayor Rhea Ynares, through her official Facebook page, urged residents to heed the warning of the PCG for their safety.
