ZAMBOANGA CITY deploys rescuers, relief goods to Cebu.
Zamboanga City led by Mayor Khymer Olaso deployed a 19-man team to Cebu province on Wednesday, Oct. 1, to help in earthquake rescue efforts.
The team was composed of nine personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, eight from the City Health Office, and two from the City Social Welfare Office.
They are expected to help in search and rescue operations and provide medical assistance to earthquake victims.
Relief goods consisting of 1,000 sacks of rice, 1,000 boxes of canned goods, and 1,000 jerry cans of water were sent.
Olaso said the move demonstrates solidarity in times of calamity.
