TACLOBAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-8 have sent personnel to Cebu province in response to the magnitude-6.9 earthquake on Sept. 30.
A team was sent on Oct. 1 – a search-and-rescue dog with a handler and 17 personnel from the Regional Maritime Unit-8.
Two days later on Oct. 3, 17 personnel from the Regional Mobile Force 8, one Incident Management Team personnel, three doctors, and four drivers were deployed.
PRO-8 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy commended the inter-agency effort, stressing the importance of unity and coordination in disaster response.
“Our participation in this deployment highlights our commitment to work closely with government agencies and stakeholders to safeguard the people of Cebu and the affected areas.”
“This joint effort affirms our unity and shared responsibility in responding to disasters,” he added.
He noted that the mobilization reflects the region’s determination to provide timely assistance, restore essential services, and maintain peace and order in affected communities.
