The city government of Malabon was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification on Thursday, Oct. 2, after passing a comprehensive audit conducted by TUV Rheinland Philippines.

The certification, which covers six sites including the Malabon City Hall, Ospital ng Malabon, City Library, City of Malabon University, City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute, and the City’s Anti-Drug Abuse Office, highlights the local government’s compliance with international standards on quality service, transparency, and efficiency.

“Ang tagumpay natin na makapasa sa pagkakaroon ng ISO Certification ito ay hindi lamang para sa pamahalaang lungsod, kundi para sa bawat Malabueño. Nangangahulugan ito na handa at kaya nating magbigay ng serbisyong tapat, maayos at may sistema, at mahusay at napapanahon na pasado sa pandaigdigang pamantayan. Ito ay ating pagtupad sa pangako nating dekalidad na serbisyo publiko para sa bawat tahanang Malabueño (Our success in achieving ISO Certification is not only for the city government, but for every Malabueño. It means that we are ready and able to provide honest, orderly and systematic, efficient and timely services that meet international standards. This is our fulfillment of our promise of quality public services for every Malabueño household)," Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said.

The Stage 2 Audit was conducted from Sept. 10 to 12, following months of preparations that included internal audits and ISO-related training sessions for department heads and focal persons. These measures ensured that the city’s systems were aligned with international standards before undergoing formal evaluation.

Malabon City Quality Management Representative Jeffrey Benesisto emphasized that the certification streamlines operations for better efficiency.

“Ang inspirasyon ay malinaw, ang hangarin ni Mayor Jeannie Sandoval na bigyan ng mas maayos, mabilis, at maaasahang serbisyo ang mga Malabueño. Sa kanyang liderato, kasama ang mahusay na pamamahala ni City Administrator Alexander Rosete at ang dedikasyon ng Management Team, isinagawa ang pagsasaayos ng mga serbisyo upang makamit ang mataas na antas ng customer satisfaction, masiguro ang pagsunod sa batas at regulasyon, at patuloy na mapaunlad ang sistema ng pamahalaang lungsod (The inspiration is clear, Mayor Jeannie Sandoval's desire to provide better, faster, and more reliable services to the people of Malabueños. Under her leadership, along with the excellent management of City Administrator Alexander Rosete and the dedication of the Management Team, services have been streamlined to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and continue to develop the city government system),” he said.

Rosete also expressed gratitude to both city employees and constituents.

With the ISO certification, the city government is expected to deliver programs and services that are more reliable, timely, and responsive to the needs of Malabon residents.
