DOH sends medical teams after 6.9-magnitude quake in Cebu
The Department of Health (DOH) has mobilized personnel in areas affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on Sept. 30 to provide emergency medical assistance and support local authorities
In a statement on Wednesday, Oct. 1, DOH said doctors, nurses, and staff from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and Cebu South Medical Center (CSMC) have confirmed their safety and are now assisting nearby communities, particularly in Bogo City.
DOH added that regional offices of the Centers for Health Development (CHDs) in Central and Eastern Visayas have also reported back and are coordinating with their counterparts at the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to ensure a unified response.
The agency advised residents in affected areas to follow instructions from their local government units and remain alert for possible aftershocks.
