Illegal recruiter arrested in Misamis Oriental


BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested an alleged illegal recruiter in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental, on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Police Regional Office 10-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann G. Navarro identified the suspect as Mae, 31, of Gingoog City.

The suspect was arrested on a warrant for illegal recruitment under Republic Act 10022, an Act amending the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, dated June 25, 2024.

The suspect was previously apprehended in February 2024 for alleged illegal recruitment and was released on bail.

The suspect is under the custody of the Talisayan Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman commended operating units for apprehending the suspect.

“This arrest reflects our unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the protection of our citizens from individuals who exploit and victimize others through illegal recruitment schemes,” he said. “Let this serve as a warning to all perpetrators of such crimes that the long arm of the law will find you.”
