Cignal explores legal action following Molina, Meneses team departure

In an official statement posted on its social media Thursday evening, Jan. 9, the management said it “initiated renewal discussions via formal offers as early as October 2024.”

“Unfortunately, both players have not responded to any communications and have ceased attending training since its resumption earlier this week,” the statement read.

Avior Talent Management, which handles Molina and Meneses, announced Thursday morning that Molina and Meneses have decided to part ways with the team.

Both players have been with the team since 2022.

According to Cignal, the talent management reached out to them earlier Thursday following a formal letter sent on Jan. 6 “requesting to end their live contract extension in order to pursue unspecified opportunities abroad.”

“The Cignal HD Spikers remain committed to our athletes, supporters, and community, and will continue preparing for the resumption of the 2025 PVL All-Filipino Conference,” the statement read.

The HD Spikers are currently at second in the standings with a 4-1 win-loss record and are set to return to court on Jan. 21 against the Galeries Highrisers.
