Over P6-M worth of shabu seized in QC buy-bust

A 24-year-old woman was arrested and P6,120,000 worth of shabu was confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Thursday, Jan. 9.

The Quezon City Police District - Batasan Police Station (QCPD-PS 6) identified the suspect as Nurjiya Akuk Muharram, a resident of Barangay Holy Spirit.

According to the police report, PS-6 operatives conducted the buy-bust at No. 43 Airforce Road, Barangay Holy Spirit, at around 5:30 a.m.

A police officer posed as a buyer and purchased P90,000 worth of shabu, leading to the suspect's arrest.

Seized from the suspect were 900 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P6,120,000, a cellular phone, two gold Chinese tea bags, a green shoulder bag, and the marked buy-bust money.

The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

QCPD Chief Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., commended the members of Batasan Police Station for their dedication to combating illegal drugs.

“I commend the operatives of Batasan Police Station 6, under the supervision of PLTCOL Romil Avenido, for their unwavering commitment to the fight against illegal drugs. Their relentless efforts led to the successful arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of substantial evidence. This accomplishment reflects the QCPD's active stance, a core component of the ARD-NCRPO initiative—Able, Active, and Allied—in taking bold and proactive measures to enhance crime clearance and solution efficiency, ensuring a safer and more secure Quezon City,” he said.
