Manila DRRMO: 301 devotees injured as Traslacion continues

The Manila Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) has recorded 301 injured devotees as the Traslacion continues.

Manila DRRMO said there were 102 patients brought to them who were checked for their vital signs, 178 minor wounds, and seven major cases.

It added that a total of 14 patients were transported to hospitals as of 4 p.m.

The Quiapo Church has reiterated its warning to devotees to refrain from pushing or shoving in front of the carriage of the Jesus Nazareno during the Traslacion procession to avoid being trampled.

As the procession continues, the number of injured devotees has been steadily increasing, with emergency teams on standby to provide assistance.

Several devotees have expressed concerns over the massive turnout, noting that the crowd today appears to be larger than the previous year.

Several marshals are closely monitoring the situation, emphasizing the importance of safety during the event.

Meanwhile, vendors selling items along the streets have been called on by authorities to clear the way for the andas, ensuring that the procession can proceed without obstruction.

There were also some devotees who raised concerns about the heavy vehicle traffic along Taft Avenue, with many questioning the decision of the traffic bureau to not fully close the roads, which they believe is hindering the smooth flow of the procession.
