Heavy traffic reported along Recto, Taft avenues amid Traslacion

Motorists are advised to expect significant traffic congestion along Taft and Recto Avenue as the annual Traslacion 2025 procession occurs in Manila on Thursday, Jan. 9.

The event, which draws millions of devotees, has led to increased vehicular volume in the area.

Several public utility vehicles (PUVs) were observed navigating through Recto Avenue in search of alternative routes to continue serving passengers.

Among the buses affected were those with routes connecting Fairview to the Mall of Asia and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

These buses, along with other forms of public transport, have been adjusting their paths in an effort to minimize delays and ensure passengers reach their destinations on time.

Local authorities are urging drivers to plan their travel routes in advance and consider taking alternate roads to avoid the heavy traffic.

Commuters are also encouraged to allow extra travel time during the Traslacion festivities, as road closures and delays are expected to persist throughout the day.

As of now, the Manila Police District and traffic management personnel continue to monitor the situation and manage traffic flow to ensure the safety of both commuters and participants in the religious event.
