LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – A college student was killed in a fire in Barangay Ilawod here before dawn on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, identified the victim as Angelo, a resident of Masbate province.
Investigation said a loud explosion was heard in a laundry shop followed by the fire that spread to the victim’s boarding house.
Calubaquib said the victim was trapped.
The Bureau of Fire Protection declared fire out around 5:52 a.m. Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of fire.
