Cargo ship sinks in Quezon; 7 crew rescued

PATNANUNGAN, Quezon â€“ Seven crew members were rescued after their cargo ship sank in the sea of Barangay Poblacion here on Tuesday morning, Jan. 7.

Water began flooding the ship after it was hit by large waves due to bad weather while enroute to the port of Atimonan, Quezon from this town.

Police and the Philippine Coast Guard, with other boats in the area, conducted a rescue operation.

All seven crew members were saved and no injuries were reported among them.

The vessel was towed to the shoreline.
