CAAP: Five domestic flights cancelled due to bad weather condition

At least five domestic flights were cancelled on Wednesday, Jan. 8, due to bad weather condition, the  Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In a statement, the CAAP said those cancelled were two flights from Manila to Virac, Catanduanes and vice versa; two flights from Manila to Naga City and vice versa; and a flight from Manila to Masbate.

More than 400 passengers were affected by the flight cancellations.

"Affected passengers are being assisted by CAAP personnel with rebooking or refunding procedures, baggage claims, and security support," the statement read.

"CAAP remains on standby alert following these flight cancellations, which have caused delays and inconvenience to passengers. We are closely monitoring weather forecasts to ensure proactive preparations," it added.
