NAZARENO 2025: Road closures, rerouting for Traslacion

The City of Manila has released the roads that will be closed to vehicular traffic starting Jan. 8 to 9 for Traslacion 2025.

To ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event, the following roads will be closed starting at 9 p.m. on January 8  as the Jesus Nazarene procession makes its way from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church. 

  1. Bonifacio Drive (from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Ave.)
  2. Katigbak Drive and South Drive (One lane accessible to Manila Hotel and H20 Hotel, separated by plastic barriers)
  3. Independence Road
  4. Roxas Blvd. (from Katigbak to U.N. Ave.)
  5. P. Burgos (from Roxas Blvd. to Jones, McArthur, and Quezon Bridge)
  6. Finance Rd. (from P. Burgos Ave. to Taft Ave.)

  9. Romualdez St. (from U.N. Ave. to Ayala Blvd.)
  10. Ayala Ave. (from Taft Ave. to Romualdez St.)

  12. P. Casal (from C. Palanca to Arlegui St.)

  15. Westbound lane of España Blvd. (from P. Campa to Lerma St.)

Authorities said the closure of some streets will take effect as the procession approaches and will be reopened when the procession is over.

Due to the road closures, drivers will need to follow designated alternate routes to avoid getting caught in the procession's path.

Southbound Rerouting:

  • Mel Lopez Blvd. (R-10) to Roxas Blvd.: Turn left to Capulong St., proceed to Yuseco St., then continue to Lacson Ave.
  • J. Abad Santos Ave./R. Regente to Intramuros Area: Turn right to San Fernando St., left to Madrid St., left to Muelle Dela Industria, cross Binondo-Intramuros Bridge to A. Soriano Ave.
  • Rizal Ave. to McArthur Bridge: Turn left to CM Recto Ave., then left to Legarda St.
  • A. Mendoza St. to Quezon Blvd.: Turn right to Fugoso St., proceed to Rizal Ave.
  • España Blvd. to Quezon Blvd.: Turn left to N. Reyes St., continue to CM Recto Ave.

Northbound Rerouting:

  • Roxas Blvd. to P. Burgos Ave. (light vehicles): Turn right to U.N. Ave., continue straight to P. Guanzon St., and then cross Mabini Bridge.
  • Roxas Blvd. to Mel Lopez Blvd. (trucks and trailers): Turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave., then cross Mabini Bridge.
  • Taft Ave. to P. Burgos Ave.: Turn right to U.N. Ave., proceed to P. Guanzon St., and cross Mabini Bridge.
  • Osmeña Highway to Mel Lopez Blvd. (trucks and trailers): Turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave., then cross Mabini Bridge.
  • A. Mabini St. to TM Kalaw Ave.: Turn right to U.N. Ave., continue straight to P. Guanzon St., and cross Mabini Bridge.
  • Ma. Orosa St. to TM Kalaw Ave.: Turn right to U.N. Ave., proceed straight to P. Guanzon St., and cross Mabini Bridge.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and follow the designated rerouting paths to avoid traffic disruptions.
