Col. Albert Tapulao, Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) chief, said two suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

An intensive manhunt is underway against the four remaining suspects – a former policeman and three individuals –  Tapulao said.

The suspects stopped the vehicle of the victims in Barangay Sante Fe and introduced themselves as policemen and proceeded at gunpoint to cart away P3.1 million in cash and bank checks totaling P1.5 million.

Tapulao said they are closely coordinating with the Iloilo Provincial Police Office as the former policeman lives in Iloilo province and the vehicle used in the crime was found in Dingle town.

Police Capt. Merry Chris dela Cruz, chief of the CPPO Public Information Office (PIO), said that robbery charges will be  filed against the suspects.
