House Deputy Majority Leader ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo has challenged his vlogger-critics to put their money where their mouths are and actually do their part to help the country.

Tulfo--speaking in his radio program Punto Asintado Reload on Monday, Jan. 6--referred to two content creators in particular, but didn't name them.

Tulfo said one of them was a spectacled woman who appeared to be living a comfortable life after she married an American citizen.

The other one is an ex-TV personality from Davao with an alleged criminal record.

"Ilang vlogger ho dyan, salita nang salita, tira nang tira sa gobyerno. Lalo na po yung isa dyan sa Amerika na babae. Nakapangasawa siguro ng mayaman afam. Napakaswerte mo, ineng. Napakaswerte mo, mamahalin pa ang antipara mo," said Tulfo.

(Some vloggers there are all talk, all criticism. Especially this one woman from America. She probably married a rich foreign man. You're very lucky, miss. You're very lucky, your glasses look expensive.)

"Diyos ko po. Dapat magpasalamat ko na sa Panginoong Diyos na mayaman ang afam mo. Hindi ka kailangan magbanat ng buto," he said.

(My God. Just be thankful to God that your husband is rich. You don't have to work.)

'Come home, run for president'

The senatorial aspirant then threw down the gauntlet to this female vlogger.

"Daldal kka nang daldal, comment ka nang comment (You keep talking, you keep commenting)...Why don't you come home? Why don't you come home and help this country?"

"Kung talagang may malasakit ka sa bayan mo, umuwi ka rito, ibenta mo or i-donate mo yang kayamanan mo na galing sa afam mo na Amerikano, ibigay mo sa mga mahihirap dito," Tulfo said.

(If you truly have compassion for the country, come back home, sell your belongings or donate to poor Filipinos the riches that you gained from your American partner.)

"Bakit hindi ka umuwi dito? (Why not come home here?) And then you do the fight, you do the battle," stressed the majority leader for communications.

Tulfo futher challenged the female vlogger to enter politics, if she truly believed that she could do a better job in running the country's affairs.

"Or ma'am, baka po pwede ma'am sa [2028], ikaw ko kaya tumakbo na pagka-pangulo. You run as president of the republic. Gusto niyo tumakbo kayo senador or congressman, kayo ho mag-Speaker."

(Or ma'am how about you run for president in 2028. You run as president of the republic. Why not run for senator or congressman, and try to be the Speaker.)

Tulfo then turned his sights to his other critic whose name he also did not mention.

"Yung isa naman ho dyan na dating TV personality sa Davao na may kasong estafa: Sir, kung gusto mo makatulong, eh tumigal ka na lang ho. Imbis na mag-criticize ka, dapat constructive criticism," he said.

(To the other vlogger who is a former TV personality from Davao with an estafa case: Sir, if you really want to help, just stop it. Instead of giving plain criticisms, you should give constructive criticism.)

"And you know that na kapag bumanat ka, dapat merong kang opinion or idea na itong dapat gawin. Hindi yung tira nang tira," the broadcaster-solon said.

(When you assail something, you should provide an opinion or idea of what to do. You can't just simply criticize.)
