Ilocos cops net P5.8-M illegal drugs in December


CAMP Florendo, San Fernando City, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 said that 116 suspected drug pushers were arrested and shabu and marijuana valued at P5.8 million were seized in the Ilocos region last December.

The PRO-1 also said that 2,984 prohibited firecrackers valued at P174,898 were confiscated.

Police apprehended 25 most wanted persons and 273 other wanted persons and 219 illegal gamblers and seized P29,135 in bet money and assorted gambling paraphernalia.

Seventeen guns were recovered and 20 individuals were caught in the campaign against loose firearms.

Two New People’s Army rebels and 23 supporters were arrested.

"Each accomplishment is a step forward in our stance for a safer and more prosperous Ilocos region. As we move into the new year, rest assured that PRO-1 will continue to implement intensified police operations to ensure peace and order in our region.
