CEBU CITY — The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) is mourning the death of an “exceptional officer” who was found lifeless inside his office in Tuburan town, Cebu.

Police Lt. Col. Glenn Hife, Tuburan police chief, was found dead at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4.
According to the Tuburan police, Hife complained of stomach ache early in the day. He went to his room to rest.
Hife’s subordinates started to worry when they did not see him until late in the afternoon.
Personnel went to Hife’s room and found him unconscious in a prone position on his bed.
Hife was already stiff when he was discovered unconscious.
“The CPPO is deeply saddened by the passing of Police Lt. Col. Glenn Hife, chief of police of Tuburan Municipal Police Station. A model of leadership, integrity, and dedication, Hife tirelessly served his community with unwavering commitment to peace and order,” the CPPO said in a statement.
The CPPO said Hife was known for relentless pursuit of justice and community engagement and earned the respect of colleagues, local leaders, and residents.
“Under his leadership, Tuburan saw numerous successful operations against crime and illegal activities, alongside strengthened ties between the police and the community,” the CPPO added.
Police Col. Jovito Atanacio, the officer-in-charge of CPPO, condoled with Hife’s family.
"We mourn the loss of an exceptional officer who dedicated his life to service. CPPO extends its heartfelt condolences to Hife family and loved ones, pledging to honor his memory by upholding the values he stood for,” Anatacio said.
