K-pop girl group Aespa won the grand prize (“daesang”) in the digital music category of the 39th Golden Disc Awards (GDA), which recognized achievements in the K-pop industry.

The awarding ceremonies were scheduled to be held on Jan. 4 and 5 at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan.
The live broadcast of the show was canceled following the deadly Jeju Air plane crash that killed 179 people on Dec. 29.
Instead, the 39th Golden Disc Awards will be aired on Jan. 6 and 7.
Ahead of the broadcast, the winners were announced on Dec. 5 for Day 1 in the digital music category. Day 2 will honor winners in the album category.
