4 dead in Davao City road collision

Four people were killed in a collision between two passenger vans in Barangay Binugao, Toril District, Davao City on Saturday morning, Jan. 4.

Police said the driver of the van heading north allegedly lost control of the vehicle in a curved portion of the Davao-Digos Road and rammed a van on the southbound lane at about 8 a.m.

Four passengers of the southbound van were declared dead on arrival in a hospital and two were injured.

The victims were on their way home to Cotabato from a beach resort in Samal Island when the accident occurred, police said.

The drivers of the two vans are under police custody and a follow-up investigation is underway.
