Woman hacks husband to death during marital spat


TACLOBAN CITY – A 58-year-old woman hacked her husband to death when he attempted to kill her in their home in Barangay 98, Camansihay, this city, on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Police identified the suspect as Zelda, a vendor. 

Investigation said a heated argument erupted between Zelda and husband Tino, 67, a farmer. 

Tino got a 19-inch bolo and attempted to hack his wife. Zelda managed to avoid the attack and seize the bladed weapon. She hacked her husband multiple times. He died on the spot.

Zelda surrendered to responding policemen. 

Tino’s body was taken to a local funeral parlor and the suspect was brought to Tacloban City Police Station 4 with the murder weapon.
