He doesn’t look the part now, but actor Keempee de Leon used to be a huge heartthrob.
He was among many young men on “That’s Entertainment” that were quite popular among girls.
And these aren’t just fans – many of the girls featured in the same show fawned over him.
Of course, young as he was, Keempee was only too eager to err, serve their needs.
In a recent appearance on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Keempee named some of the stars he dated.
These include Manilyn Reynes, Carmina Villarroel, Vina Morales, Ara Mina, G. Toengi, Ina Raymundo, Jessa Zaragoza.
He also courted the likes of Aiko Melendez, Sunshine Cruz, Mikee Cojuangco, Bernadette Allyson, Cristine Reyes, Donna Cruz, even Pauleen Luna.
“Lahat yun totoo...during my time kasi, ako ‘yung tipong select and collect eh,” recalled Keempee with a smile.
Not one of these relationships lasted long though.
He related, “Ang pinakamatagal si Carmina, more than two years yun. Si Vina, I think a year and a half. Si Mane (Manilyn) mga around four months lang yata...puppy love lang naman yung sa amin.”
Keempee blames himself for the failed relationships, noting at the time he was quite “possessive.”
“Kahit friend niya, mag-tinginan lang sila, mag-ngitian, away na ‘yun,” he shared. “At buong gabi away na ‘yun.”
And there were no proper goodbyes.
“Wala, totally iwasan na lang,” said Keempee. “Wala nang closure talaga.”
As he got older, Keempee eventually realized this was wrong, going on to reconnect with the same women if only to make peace.
“Kaibigan ko silang lahat, pati ang mga husbands nila,” he maintained. “Na-realize ko na mali ‘yung ginawa ko kaya nag-sorry ako sa kanila.”
At 52, Keempee is still single and by choice.
“Binigay ko muna ‘yung time ko sa Diyos,” he said.
