DOLE, JobStreet partnership opens over 8,000 jobs at Career Con 2025

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with JobStreet Philippines, facilitated over 8,000 job opportunities at Career Con 2025, held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from January 28 to 29.

The two-day event drew more than 18,000 jobseekers and over 150 employers from various industries, offering positions ranging from entry-level to senior roles.

In addition to job placement, Career Con 2025 featured career development programs, including candidate talks, masterclasses, and the SEEK Summit, which focused on upskilling middle management and fostering business-to-business networking.

Jobseekers also had access to government services from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), the Social Security System (SSS), and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), along with practical assistance such as resume clinics, an ID photo booth, and on-the-spot hiring opportunities.

DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma highlighted the event’s theme, “The Future of Work in the Philippines,” stressing the need for Filipinos to adapt to a labor market shaped by technological advancements, globalization, and shifting workforce demands.

Laguesma said the DOLE-JobStreet partnership aimed to streamline job fair registration, boost youth employability programs, and leverage digital tools for labor market analysis and information sharing.

He added that these initiatives are essential in strengthening employment opportunities, driving economic growth, and advancing workforce development.

DOLE also reaffirmed its commitment to assisting displaced workers, particularly those affected by the recent ban on Internet Gaming Licensee (IGL) operations, through career fairs and livelihood programs.

Reiterating the government’s dedication to ensuring a future-ready workforce, Laguesma said that labor initiatives continue to align with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s vision for an inclusive, progressive, and resilient Philippines.
