Dispatcher shot dead in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A 38-year-old dispatcher was gunned down in Purok Tahong, Barangay 3 here on Friday, Jan. 31.

Police Major Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Jane, temporarily residing in Barangay 5 here.

Tolentino said the victim was buying a cigarette in a sari-sari store when a man arrived and shot her in the head and chest at past 3 a.m. She died on the spot.

Recovered from the crime scene were two empty bullet cartridges.

Tolentino said that the suspect may have been monitoring the victim who frequently visits the area.

Police said they are looking into the incident as drug-related. The victim’s live-in partner said that she was reportedly involved in illegal drugs.
