Marcos urges public officials: Stop disrupting gov't to gain 'political points'
Stop finding ways to disrupt the government just to gain political points, President Marcos told public officials in the country.

Marcos made the statement on Thursday, Jan. 30, as he was emphasizing how crucial the cooperation between the local and national governments is in nation building.
"Pag nag-aaway away, naglalaban, kinokontra, hinaharang. Naghahanap ng paraan para harangin, para lang maka political points, e, wala talagang mangyayari sa atin (We cannot accomplish anything if we keep on fighting, contradicting each other, disrupting, and finding ways to hamper up just to gain political points)," Marcos said in an ambush interview in Lapu-Lapu City.
"So, we should put those attempts to one side and stay together," he said.
Marcos pointed out that with the expression of support he received from the Visayas governors, particularly from Regions 6, 7, and 8, which he said was a "big block," his administration can accomplish much more work.
He also said that perhaps the politicians in the Visayas block saw what his political theme "unity" can do.
"At talagang napakalaking bagay para sa atin (It's a huge thing for us). Because you remember I ran under the flag of unity and we have seen and I think that something that the local government immediately recognized," he said.
"And this is a big big block— this the Visayas block, and with them as our partners in the national government, there is so much that we can do," he added.
"And I am very grateful to all the governors of Region 6, 7, and 8 for their expression of support. It is a very very important part of our nation building na malaman na (to learn that) the very least dito sa Visayas na may maasahan tayo na tutulong para sa programa na dinadala ng pamahalaan (here in the Visayas we can expect someone would help us in implementing the government's projects)," the President further said.
Marcos attended on Thursday a lunch with governors and One Cebu officials in Cebu City, where he received a manifesto of support for his administration halfway through his term.
