The Las Piñas City Council tackled in its regular session last Monday, Jan. 27, social welfare, urban planning, and community development in the city.
Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar said among the focus if the session was the application for locational clearance for two proposed residential projects for the Starville Homes Homeowners Association, Inc. in Barangay Pulanglupa Dos and the Blessed Barnyard Properties Corp. in Barangay Talon Singko.
The developments aim to address the city’s growing housing sector.
Aguilar said additional endorsements included a request to reclassify land use for specific properties in Barangays Talon Uno and Talon Singko from residential to commercial, in line with the city’s efforts to accommodate evolving economic and business needs.
She said the council also deliberated on a proposed ordinance amending City Ordinance No. 1522-18 to update the hazard allowance for personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Las Piñas City Libreng Libing and Free Cremation Program service providers, which seeks to provide free burial and cremation services for qualified residents, was also discussed. It aims to ease the financial burden of families during times of loss.
