Man attacks woman while walking in Caloocan City

A 22 year-old woman was assaulted while walking in Barangay 152, Caloocan City, on Monday, Dec. 27, by a man who allegedly attempted to molest her.

In a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the suspect suddenly appeared and attacked the victim, who was using her phone while walking.

He forcefully grabbed the blouse of the victim, causing her to struggle and resist.

The altercation caused the woman to fall and drop her phone and bag.

Despite the resistance, the suspect persisted in his assault.

An off-duty barangay tanod who was in the area noticed the commotion and intervened just as the suspect attempted another assault.

The tanod attempted to apprehend the suspect but the man managed to escape.

Authorities said the victim and the suspect had no prior connection.

The identities of both the victim and the suspect were being withheld by the authorities as the investigation continued.

The suspect will face multiple charges including acts of lasciviousness, sexual harassment, and physical assault.
