Contractor playing billiards shot dead

CABUYAO CITY, Laguna – A 35-year-old contractor was shot dead by while playing billiards in Purok 3, Barangay Marinig, this city, on Wednesday night, Jan. 29.

Police identified the victim as Joselito Barquio.

Investigation said the victim was playing billiards with friends when a man appeared and shot him in the back.

The suspect fled onboard a motorcycle and the victim was taken to the Ospital ng Cabuyao where he was declared dead.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

2 drown in Batangas

Two persons drowned while swimming in the sea of Batangas City and Lian, Batangas on Wednesday.

Police identified the victims as Ronald Domingo, 32, and Nino Kevin Catindig, 32.

Domingo drowned in Barangay Simlong, Batangas City and Catindig in Barangay San Diego, Lian.

Rescuers recovered both victims and were taken to hospitals where they were declared dead.
