2 drug suspects yield P1.2-M shabu, firearm in Antipolo

Two high-value individuals (HVIs) on illegal drugs were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City on Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said.

Rizal PPO director Col. Felipe Maraggun identified the suspects as "Ry" and "Urqia." Ry is a resident of Quezon City while Urqia is from Antipolo City.

The police said the two were notorious drug personalities operating not just in Rizal but also in most parts of Metro Manila.

Based on the police report, the Antipolo City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recovered P1,224,000 worth of shabu from the suspects as well as a .40 caliber Taurus pistol loaded with live ammunition.

The two are now facing illegal drugs and illegal firearm charges.

Meanwhile, Maraggun praised the police and PDEA officers for the successful arrest of the suspects, stressing that this will greatly hinder the proliferation of illegal drugs in the two regions.
