Sama-sama tayo, walang maiiwan (What's more, our goal is to build more and better housing projects for Malabuenos by 2025. These projects that we will ensure are implemented this year are part of our goal that all Malabuenos have clean and dignified home. We know the importance of having a well-maintained home, so you can count on our continued programs. Let's be together, no one will be left behind),” Sandoval said.
According to the City Engineering Department, the project will provide about 88 housing units to Malabuenos.
It added that as of Dec. 26, 2024, it completed bored pile works and the project is now in its steelwork phase where the installation of steel columns on the first eight floors is ongoing.
In October 2024, the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) launched the city’s Socialized Housing Application where over 18,000 Malabueños pre-registered online signifying their interest to apply.
As of Dec. 31, the CHUDD received 911 applications with supporting documents.
Meanwhile, the City Administrator and City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) concurrent head Dr. Alexander Rosete
shared that since the creation of the CHUDD in 2023, it actively identified, monitored, and inspected lands owned by the city government for more housing and lot allocation programs.
As we ensure the safety and well-being of our countrymen, we continue to develop plans and implement programs that focus on the land and housing needs of our dear Malabuenos. As we enter the year 2025, we will further improve what we have started towards the goal of our good Mayor Jeannie Sandoval that the people of Malabueno have a better place to live for a better future for all),” Rosete said.
Last Dec. 11, 642 families were relocated at St. Gregory Homes in Barangay Panghulo which is a partnership of the LGU and the national government.
