Caloocan public school teachers to receive P2,000 augmentation pay

Public school teachers in Caloocan City will start the year with good news as the local government implemented a P2,000 monthly augmentation pay in appreciation of the valuable contributions of local faculty members to the city’s education system.

The implementation was previously promised by Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan in his State of the City Address (SOCA) last September 2024.

The local government said that the augmentation pay is an allowance provided by the LGU to teachers assigned in its jurisdiction, which was prioritized by Malapitan to increase during his term to show their appreciation for the teachers' hard work.

“Sa ating mga huwaran at maaasahang guro sa Caloocan, ito po ang pagtupad ko sa aking ipinangako na gawing P2,000 ang inyong augmentation pay bilang pagpapakita ng ating pagpapahalaga at pangangalaga sa bawat isa sa inyo (To our exemplary and reliable teachers in Caloocan, this is the fulfillment of my promise to increase your augmentation pay to P2,000 as a sign of our appreciation and care for each one of you),” the mayor said.

Malapitan also emphasized the city government's commitment to upholding the quality of local education in all areas and urged all stakeholders to support the efficient delivery of services.

“Sa mga guro, kasama na ang mga school administrator, at lalo na sa ating mga magulang, nawa’y patuloy namin kayong maging kaagapay sa pagbibigay ng maayos at de-kalidad na edukasyon para sa ating mga anak (To the teachers, including school administrators, and especially to our parents, may you continue to be our partners in providing proper and quality education for our children)," he said.

“Isa pong magandang salubong para sa Bagong Taon ang programang ito, at tinitiyak ko na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang pagpapaunlad natin ng ating mga serbisyo para sa magandang kinabukasan ng mga Batang Kankaloo (This program is a wonderful way to welcome the New Year, and I assure you that we will continue improving our services for a brighter future for the youth of Kankaloo),” Malapitan assured.
