BACOLOD CITY - A 38-year-old tricycle driver was robbed and killed by his passenger at the Bacolod Economic Highway in Hacienda Gonzaga, Barangay Mansilingan here on Monday, Jan. 27.

The victim was identified as Edmund Tolosa from Barangay Taculing here.
Police Capt. Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 7, said that the 37-year-old suspect, identified only as Almer of Barangay Mansilingan, flagged down the victim’s tricycle in a supermarket in Barangay Masilingan.
The suspect hit the victim’s head with a stone upon reaching the highway and took the tricycle and left the injured victim.
The Bago City Police Station coordinated with Police Station 7 after receiving information about a motornapping incident. Police Station 7 conducted a follow-up operation that led to the apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the tricycle.
Police located the victim after the suspect led them to the area. The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.
Robbery with homicide charges were filed on Tuesday, Jan. 28, against the suspect under the custody of Police Station 7.
