Authorities discovered a kitchen-type illegal drug laboratory after the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded to a residential blasting incident in Tanza, Cavite, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday, Jan. 30.

At around 6 a.m. on an. 28, the BFP-Tanza immediately coordinated with the PDEA Regional Office IV-A, Tanza Municipal Police Station and the Scene of the Crime Operation IV-A (SOCO 4A) as the firefighters found various drug paraphernalia, equipment and several types of suspected chemicals inside the area located along Leon Fojas Street in Barangay Sahud-Ulan.

Upon further search, government authorities eventually discovered various types of dangerous drugs inside the residence.

“Four drug personalities who were identified as two Indonesian nationals, one Chinese-looking individual and a Filipina remain-at-large and are being tracked by the operatives,’’ the PDEA said.

The pieces of drug evidence are now in the PDEA Laboratory and are being examined by the agency’s chemists, while the non-drug pieces of evidence are in the possession of the PNP Laboratory Region IV-A.

“A case for violation of Section 8 (Manufacture of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals) of Article II, Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied for filing while on-going coordination among PDEA, PNP and NBI for possible follow-up operations,’’ the PDEA noted.
