PAGASA: Rainfall in Zamboanga City expected until April

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Rain being experienced here is likely to continue until April, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said.

HEAVY rain blankets Zamboanga City. 

PAGASA Weather Specialist Engr. Jayson Albay attributed the rainfall during the first quarter of the year to the La Niña phenomenon.

“Ngayon meron ng nakaapekto ‘yung easterlies natin. Meron din tayong La Niña-like condition na-experience,” Albay said.         

He warned people about a higher volume of rainfall that could result in flooding in low-lying areas of the city.  

Heavy rain experienced here last Saturday was above the average volume of rainfall.
