PLM affirms non-partisan policy amidst slew of political surveys

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) has issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to being a non-partisan academic institution.

The statement comes in response to purported surveys circulating online that claim to reflect the political preferences of PLM students.

In an official announcement, the university clarified that these surveys have not been authorized by PLM and are not connected to any officially recognized student organization or body within the institution.

PLM emphasized that, as a non-partisan educational institution, it does not sanction or allow any individual or organization to conduct political or partisan surveys among its members.

This policy is in line with the university’s commitment to maintaining an environment that prioritizes academic integrity, excellence, and the overall well-being of its students, faculty, and staff.

“PLM remains steadfast in its mission to provide a space where academic learning thrives, free from political influences,” the university stated in its statement.

PLM authorities are urging the public to disregard the unauthorized surveys and to remain mindful of the institution’s non-partisan stance.

The university further reiterated that any attempt to involve its community in partisan political activities is strictly prohibited.

As the university continues to uphold these core principles, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to focus on the pursuit of knowledge and community engagement within the bounds of academic integrity.
