Government anti-narcotics agents seized on Monday, Jan. 27, around P20.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of three drug suspects during an interdiction operation in Catbalogan City, Samar.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the suspects with aliases ‘Noel,’ ‘Paul’ and ‘Matt’ were nabbed at around 4:04 p.m. in Barangay Mahayag through intense surveillance with the assistance of the informants.
After confirming the whereabouts of the suspects, the elements of Western Samar Provincial Patrol Team, Catbalogan City Police Station-Drug Enforcement Team, Samar Provincial Explosive Ordinance and K9 Unit, Philippine Coast Guard K9 Explosive Disposal Team and the PDEA VIII-Samar Provincial Office strategically positioned themselves that led to the apprehension.
Aside from the more or less three kilograms of suspected shabu, the operatives also found assorted drug paraphernalia in the suspects’ possession.
