The Filipino-Chinese community in the country were encouraged to be inspired by the new year to set their intentions and confidently pursue grand ambitions both for themselves and for the greater good.
"As we welcome a new year of self-improvement and good fortune, let this event inspire us to boldly set our intentions and confidently pursue grand ambitions not only for ourselves but for the greater good," President Marcos said in his message for the celebration of the Chinese New Year on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Marcos further told the Filipino-Chinese community that the new year serves as a reminder that "every challenge is a chance for growth."
"May this occasion remind us that every challenge is a chance for growth, and every effort, guided by clarity and resolve, is an opportunity to fulfill our shared aspirations," he said.
The President said that the occasion is "a radiant tapestry of cultural splendor, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the indomitable spirit of perseverance."
The new year, he added, calls for the community to embrace its promise of prosperity with courage and determination.
He also hoped that the new year celebration rekindles their commitment to the Philippines and inspires new beginnings, forging fruitful endeavors, and deepening their duty to strengthen the ties with the country.
"Let the vibrant lanterns that illuminate our celebration also brighten our purpose as a nation. May the Year of the Snake guide us with its wisdom and empower us to move through life with grace," Marcos said.
The Chinese New Year is annually celebrated in the country, and is declared as a special holiday.
