2 Chinese arrested for grave threat, election gun ban violation in Pasay City

Two Chinese nationals were arrested by members of the Pasay City Police for grave threat and for violation of the election gun ban on Jan. 27.

Pasay City Police chief Col. Samuel Pabonita identified the suspects as alias “Li” and alias “Chien.” They were arrested at around 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot along Luna St., Pasay city.

Pabonita said members of the Pasay City Police Substation 2 were conducting a routine mobile patrol in Barangay 38 when they were approached by a concerned citizen and informed them of a man wearing a white t-shirt who was in possession of a handgun.

He said Substation 2 personnel immediately proceeded to Luna St. and saw two men matching the description given by the informant.

The city police said the suspects, sensing the presence of policemen, immediately boarded their vehicle and tried to elude arrest.

Pabonita said the suspects were cornered by responding policemen at a parking lot . Alias Li, who was carrying a replica Glock handgun, immediately surrendered to the police.

The suspects were turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) after their arrest and were charged for grave threat and violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to Republic Act No. 7166 (Omnibus Election Code).
