Shake Shack teams up with Hey Pie People for the ultimate dessert

The Collab That We’ve Been PIE-ning For

Shake Shack and Hey Pie People are rolling out the dough to serve the most delicious pairing – ice cream and pie for all dessert lovers. Starting January 23, Shake Shack is making Hey Pie People’s creations accessible to everyone who wants their slice.

The collab features two new menu items highlighting Shake Shack’s signature vanilla frozen custard, made with real cane sugar, cage-free eggs and milk from dairy farmers who pledged never to use artificial growth hormones and Hey Pie People’s most memorable pie flavors, Mango Manchego Concrete and Hey Banana Fanna Toffee Shake.

Mango Manchego Concrete

Mango Manchego Concrete blends vanilla frozen custard with Hey Pie People’s best-selling Mango Manchego Pie, topped with mango, grated Manchego cheese, and finished with Hey Pie People’s signature flaky crust. The result is a delicious balance of sweet vanilla custard, the salty creaminess from the Manchego cream filling and cheese, and the fresh, tangy kick from the mango.

While Hey Banana Fanna Toffee Shake is vanilla frozen custard blended with Hey Pie People’s Banana Cream Pie, special black sesame toffee sauce, toffee bits, and ground black sesame mix. Topped with Hey Pie People’s flaky AF crust, this shake is pure bliss. Reminiscent of local peanut brittle, it offers a delightful mix of fresh, sweet banana and the nuttiness of black sesame, punctuated by the candied sweetness of crunchy toffee bits, all enveloped in Shake Shack’s rich and creamy signature frozen vanilla custard. Both items are best paired with Crinkle Cut Fries or Chicken Bites – just the perfect snack that hits all the spots.

The pies that bind us
BalikPieYan introduces Raeanne Young Sagan, the creative force behind Hey Pie People. Born and raised in the U.S., Raeanne rediscovered her Filipino roots as a balikbayan, channeling her journey into crafting classic American-style pies infused with innovation and heritage.

Together with her husband, Colin, Raeanne transformed Hey Pie People from a home-based passion project into a local sensation. Known for their handmade, small-batch pies, the brand has gained a devoted following, with each batch selling out in seconds.

Hey Pie People’s pies are culinary narratives of not just Raeanne’s personal experiences, but have also served as building foundation for a community of fun pie-loving people, of moms and parents who try their best to achieve work-life balance and even of creatives who need a slice of inspiration from time to time.  “Shake Shack has always been our family treat whenever we’re feeling nostalgic about the States, so working with them feels like coming full circle for me. I’ve always wanted to let more people try our pies, but being a literal mom and pop shop, I thought it was impossible given our limited capacity. Shake Shack is helping us bring the pies to the pie people! Creating these custom shakes and concrete flavors was so fun. Working with their team, I really got to flex my creative muscles!,” shares Raeanne Sagan of Hey Pie People.

“We are really excited about this collaboration with Hey Pie People. The joy that Raeanne and her pies bring to the Filipino community is certainly unmatched and we’d love to have more people get a chance to experience these innovative flavors that she comes up with. Her warmth, passion, creativity and dedication to her family and the community she serves are truly astounding and inspiring. We at Good Eats have always sought to provide well-curated good eats and great experiences for people who are passionate about food, and this partnership with Raeanne and Hey Pie People gives us the opportunity to achieve that,” says Joan Aquino, general manager of Good Eats by SSI.

A family affair that stands for something good
Both rooted in their strong sense of community, Shake Shack and Hey Pie People have both built their brands on two key foundations – food and family, reared on a mission to "Stand For Something Good." Being a home baker, Raeanne through her pies has brought together a community of pie-loving people – all thanks to the shared love for the baked dish. Her creativity and emphasis on the use of premium ingredients are inherent in all her pies, all up to this day are still made by hand. An American culinary concept unfamiliar to the Filipinos, her pies have become windows to the Filipino values that she resonate with. Each pie she makes comes with personal stories that she openly shares with community, translating it from a personal to communal endeavor.

Shake Shack fans can be part of a greater cause, as 5% of all Mango Manchego Concrete sales are donated to CENTEX, Ayala Foundation's holistic education program that supports student, parent, and teacher development in underserved Filipino communities.

Guests can avail of these limited menu items from January 23 until March 23, in all Manila Shacks (except NAIA T3). The Mango Manchego Concrete will only be available in six branches, excluding Shake Shack Araneta and NAIA T3.
