PAGASA: Easterlies, 'amihan' to bring isolated rains across Luzon, rest of the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with isolated rains are expected across Luzon and the rest of the country on Monday, Jan. 27.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said that the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” is currently affecting Luzon, while the easterlies will influence weather conditions in other parts of the country.

Due to the northeast monsoon, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.

Additionally, the easterlies will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Batanes will also have cloudy skies with light rains due to the “amihan,” PAGASA added.

Furthermore, the shear line will result in cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas.

PAGASA has warned the public to be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms or periods of moderate to heavy rains.
