Drug suspect arrested inside public cemetery in Pasay City

A drug suspect was arrested by members of Pasay City Police Section Intelligence Unit (SIU) inside a public cemetery and confiscated P346,120 of shabu last Jan. 25.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as alias “Marlon,” 32. He was arrested at around 6:10 p.m. inside Pasay City Public Cemetery.

The SPD said based on the report made by Pasay City Police chief, Col. Samuel Pabonita, members of the SIU received a tip from confidential informant of the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Pabonita said upon learning of Marlon’s involvement in illegal drug trade, SIU members conducted surveillance leading to the arrest of the suspect.

He said confiscated from Marlon 50.9 grams of shabu placed inside three transparent plastic sachet worth P346,120.

The confiscated shabu was turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

The suspect was detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility after his arrest and was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
