The Batang Pier’s three-headed monster spearheaded a huge offensive display as they pounced on the import-less Bossing to not only put a strong closeout to their eliminations schedule, but more importantly improve to a 9-3 record that tightened their grip of the top spot.

Munzon poured in 14 of 21 points in the first half, leading NorthPort’s hot start highlighted by a 30-17 second quarter scoring to break the game wide open.

In fact, the Batang Pier hardly had a downtime on the offensive end, torching the Bossing with 30 points in every quarter to essay the dominant win.

Tolentino, the leading local scorer so far in the conference, did the dirty work and was a willing passer to register 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to go with three steals.

It is now Tolentino’s second triple-double feat this conference after pouring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Terrafirma back in November and his third this season after putting up 23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in another win over the Dyip in the Governors’ Cup last September.

Jack, for his part, was in his usual dominant form with 30 points and six rebounds.

With the win, NorthPort seemed to have an inside track at claiming one of the Top 2 spots although TNT, Eastern and Meralco still have a chance to catch up and improve their similar 7-3 slates.

Justin Chua had 15 points for Blackwater which entered the contest out of contention following San Miguel’s 116-113 victory over Converge on Friday.

The Bossing ended a rough conference where they also missed Sedrick Barefield to finish at the 11th spot with a 3-9 record.
