Psychology student crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025

BACOLOD CITY - A 19-year-old psychology student of STI-West Negros University here was crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025 during the golden or 50th year of Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Angel Mae Baldoquin bested nine other hopefuls during the grand coronation night held at the Cadiz Arena on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Baldoquin took home P50,000 cash and was crowned by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., First Lady Mariel Escalante, and Dinagsa Queen 2024 Ayah Jane Sucajel.

Baldoquin said that she felt overwhelmed and honored and that she is determined to fulfill her responsibilities by serving the people of Cadiz City to the best of her abilities.

She highlighted the importance of self-belief and uniqueness as key factors in her success being a certified morena.

“My own uniqueness gave me strength throughout this journey,” Baldoquin said adding that she wants to use her title to inspire the youth and all Cadiznons to remain motivated and work together for a progressive future.

She dedicated her victory to her parents who are working in Poland. “Even though they are far away, their unwavering support and love kept me going,” she said.

Chelcie Cassandra Binoya and Rochelle Ramos were first and second runners-up, respectively. Binoya earned P40,000 while Ramos received P30,000 cash.

Glazel Bayona won the Best in Gown and Best in Swimwear. Binoya was Best in Talent and Best in Festival Costume. Xian Emerald Javelosa was Darling of Social Media.

Movie and television actor Gab Lagman serenaded the candidates during the coronation night.
