Woman fatally shot by drunk neighbor

BOLINAO, Pangasinan â€“ A 42-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her drunk neighbor during a confrontation in Barangay Cabuyao here on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Police identified the victim as Merlisa Caigas Castil.

Investigation said Castil accosted the suspect, Danilo Ebelte Escala, 57, for shouting inside their compound.

Escala took an airgun and shot the victim in the left eye. The victim was taken to the Bolinao Community Hospital where she was declared dead.

Police arrested Escala and recovered the airgun. The suspect faces appropriate cases.
