Make way for Twisted Minds, Team Falcons

  • Twisted Minds and Team Falcons are taking over the spots vacated by Blacklist International and RSG Philippines.

The Philippines’ status as the strongest region in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esport scene is one of the driving factors cited by the two Saudi Arabian organizations, Twisted Minds and Team Falcons, in making the decision to formally enter the MPL PH beginning on its Season 15.

The league formally introduced the two esports organizations as the latest additions to its eight franchise teams to the members of the press during a meeting on Friday, Jan. 24, in Makati City.

Twisted Minds and Team Falcons are taking over the spots vacated by Blacklist International and RSG Philippines.

Gracing the meeting were the executives of the Saudi Arabian esports giants with Twisted Mind being represented by its chief executive officer Ibrahin Bin Jibreen and Team Falcons by its global director for esports Grant Rousseau.

Also introduced during the meeting were the two teams’ respective country managers in Lexie Yambao for Twisted Minds and Ren Vitug for Team Falcons.

“The Philippine region is the strongest in this game from a performance perspective and so initially that is what drew us to the Philippines to come here,” said Rousseau, noting how the organizations’ partnership with Filipino team AP.Bren last year enabled them to learn and study the scene.

“That was really a chance for us to learn and understand the scene when it comes to ML:BB in the Philippines. They were a really strong team and we could compete with them but also allowed us to understand the fandom, the necessary marketing, how we could build a community,” he added.

Jibreen also echoed the sentiments, saying that Twisted Minds wanted to be in a highly competitive environment to foster its development and futher expand its reach

“When you go to any final, you would have seen, any global final, you would see a Filipino team in the final. So that means the Philippines teams are the best,” said Jibreen.

“From my own opinion, I'm sorry for Indonesia, but from my opinion, the Philippines is the hardest one and the strongest one. And in Twisted Minds, we're always looking for the best competition and the hardest one. So that's why we chose the Philippines,” he added.

The two executives remained tight-lipped on who could compose their respective teams but they assured that they are entering the MPL PH with the goal of competing for the title in mind.
