Over 5,000 jobs to be offered to displaced POGO workers in Pasay City job fair

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be offering a total of 5,225 job vacancies to displaced Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) workers in a job fair in Pasay City next week.

In partnership with the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR)-Makati and Pasay Field Office, JobStreet by SEEK PH, and the Pasay City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the job fair aims to connect former POGO employees with potential employers from various industries across Metro Manila from jan. 28 to 29.

"A total of 126 local companies and six overseas employers have confirmed their participation, offering positions in sectors such as finance, shipping, food and beverage, retail, and business process outsourcing (BPO)," DOLE said in a statement.

The event is part of Project DAPAT, a DOLE-led initiative designed to assist displaced workers and address unemployment resulting from the cessation of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (IGL).

Now in its fourth leg, Project DAPAT emphasizes the administration's commitment to supporting affected workers and facilitating their return to the workforce.

The job fair will also feature a one-stop shop offering services from key government agencies, including the Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), TESDA, PSA, and Pocket Rocket Advertising Incorporated.

Additionally, JobStreet will host a free career conference providing valuable insights on workforce trends and job application strategies to enhance applicants' preparedness for employment.

Applicants are encouraged to pre-register via JobStreet’s official Facebook page or QR code and bring multiple copies of their resumes and other essential documents for a smooth application process.
