A 25-year-old motorcycle rider was arrested by the police on Thursday, Jan. 23, for multiple counts of estafa, the Makati City Police said.
The suspect was identified as Adrian Marquez, tagged as the Top 3 Most Wanted Person under the station level of the Makati Police. He was arrested in Jesus Street, Pandacan, Manila.
Based on the police report, Marquez was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Rainald Paggao of the Regional Trial Court Branch 142 in Makati City.
"The accused faces 24 counts of estafa with a recommended bail of ₱18,000 per count, amounting to a total of ₱432,000," the SPD said.
"This successful operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Manuel Javier Abrugena, district director of the Southern Police District (SPD), to uphold justice and combat financial crimes. It highlights the PNP’s dedication to protecting the public from economic offenses and ensuring accountability for those who exploit others for personal gain," it added.
